LEVEL FOUR UNVEILS NEW ATM TRUETEST CONFIGURATIONS

London, 7 August 2006 - Level Four Software, the leading provider of ATM software solutions, today announced that its flagship ATM testing product, ATM TrueTest, can now be configured to support all major migration paths being adopted by ATM network operators moving from OS/2 to MS Windows technology.

Based on customer feedback, Level Four has identified two main approaches that financial institutions are taking in migrating their ATM software to the MS Windows operating system. Each approach requires a different strategy for development and testing, and both are now fully supported by ATM TrueTest.

The first approach is represented by banks taking a low-risk approach to updating their ATM software by migrating to a multi-vendor Windows platform, whilst, in the short term, retaining existing NDC/912 software architecture and host communications. For these customers, ATM TrueTest now incorporates the configuration file management features of Level Four's ATM Developer product. This enables deployers to thoroughly test their live ATM application software by automating a previously labour-intensive manual process and benefit from a sophisticated graphical development environment for the management of their ATM configurations. The solution significantly reduces the cost of ATM software development and testing and promotes a superior customer experience at the ATM.

The second approach involves taking the opportunity of the migration to Windows to replace long-standing ATM software applications with new applications tailored to the banks' specific needs. These modern, open-standards based applications, supplied either by the banks' hardware vendor, an independent software provider or developed in-house, are built on a bespoke basis and require exhaustive end-to-end testing before deployment. The sophisticated regression testing facilities of ATM TrueTest enable network operators to identify errors in the application at an early stage, carry out more thorough automated testing, and ultimately deliver a high quality end-user experience.

Level Four's ATM TrueTest enables the simulation of all ATM hardware peripherals and their interface to the ATM application via the open-standards XFS interface layer. The solution can be connected to a host system just like a real ATM and includes user-friendly graphical test tools and fully-automated documentation for improved communication. The result is simplified, high-quality automated testing and greatly-reduced cost and time for development, which optimises the bank's ability to deliver world-class customer service.

Nigel Walsh, CEO of Level Four Software, said, "The move to open standards has created many challenges that ATM owners had not anticipated. As an early advocate of this market shift, we created ATM TrueTest which is the world's first software to automate testing of XFS and Windows-based ATM applications. Today's announcement demonstrates our understanding of the market needs and commitment to delivering solutions that will respond to customer's business issues and provide proven value and fast ROI."
