LEVEL FOUR TRIUMPHS AT SCOTTISH ENTERPRISE FIFE BUSINESS AWARDS FOR 2ND YEAR RUNNING

London, 29 March 2006 – Level Four, the leading provider of open standards-based ATM testing and development software, has won the Fife Business Award for innovation and creativity from Scottish Enterprise, for the second year in a row. At the 2006 ceremony, Level Four won the award for its ATM TrueTest product – a unique and groundbreaking solution that addresses the testing needs of the global ATM and self-service market as it shifts towards open standards.

Now in its sixth year, the Fife Business Awards highlight the achievements of Fife-based businesses across industry sectors over the past 12 months. The awards are regarded by local organisations as the premier event on the calendar for identifying industry excellence.

In a current move towards open software standards, banks are looking to capitalise on essential technology investments by offering more sophisticated self-service capabilities at the ATM. Level Four introduced ATM TrueTest to its flagship ATM Channel Development Suite in response to this. It is the world’s first software to automate testing of new Windows-based ATM applications. Leading international banks already implementing the solution have experienced the benefits in terms of reduced human intervention, minimised potential errors during deployment and improved control and flexibility – enabling them to deliver a more dynamic service to the customer.

This announcement comes in a period of rapid growth for Level Four, which received £2 million of venture capital eight months ago from Quester Capital Management. Since then, it has focused on launching its new ATM TrueTest product as part of the company’s wider expansion plan to capitalise on the opportunities created by the emergence of open standards in the ATM and self-service arena.

According to Martin Macmillan, CEO at Level Four Software, “A customer-driven approach to product development has laid the foundations of our success. In the banking industry, introducing new customer services is an integral part of business strategy. Prior to new services being deployed at the ATM, thorough testing is imperative because banks cannot afford to rely on customers to test their systems. We endeavour to support all banks’ ATM testing needs and are delighted that Scottish Enterprise has acknowledged our commitment to the industry.”

Level Four was one of twelve companies to pick up an award at the ceremony in Fife on 3 March 2006. The winners received a £5,000 prize package, consisting of cash and intervention support from Scottish Enterprise Fife, and a trophy. They also automatically qualify for entry to Scottish Enterprise’s Enterprising Scotland Awards this year, Scotland’s national business awards.
