AL RAJHI SELECTS LEVEL FOUR TO ENHANCE CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFERING AT ATMS

Sixth Middle East customer confirms Level Four’s position as de facto ATM testing and development provider in the region

London, 7 March 2006 – Al Rajhi Bank, a major name in Saudi Arabia's banking industry, has selected Level Four Software, the leading provider of open standards-based ATM testing and development software, to introduce new innovative services at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s largest ATM network. Level Four will also help the bank comply with regional and international regulatory mandates, notably EMV (Europay, MasterCard and Visa) and SPAN 2, the second generation of the Saudi Payments Network.

Al Rajhi is a leading bank in Saudi Arabia with over 1,300 ATMs, the largest ATM network in the Kingdom. A key aspect of the bank’s strategy to remain at the forefront of the competitive Saudi Arabian banking market is to introduce innovative services at ATMs using state-of-the-art technology coupled with enhanced features and a superior user-friendly interface.

Hossam Saad, manager of IT development at Al Rajhi Bank, said: “In order to reduce time to market for new functionality and improve our customers’ confidence in new ATM and self-service applications, we sought a solution to automate our ATM testing cycles. We chose Level Four’s ATM Developer because of the company’s extensive expertise in ATM testing and development as well as its wealth of Middle East experience.

“ATM Developer enables us to develop and test new ATM content from any desktop PC in the network. We will benefit from the automation and comprehensive documentation at every stage of the testing process that the solution offers. With all anomalies identified and corrected ahead of
go-live, ATM Developer will help us introduce new content to our ATM network quickly, easily and cost effectively.”

Like many banks across the Middle East, Al Rajhi is in the process of upgrading its ATM network to meet the EMV mandate for smart chip cards and Saudi Arabia’s industry-wide migration to SPAN 2 to create a secure infrastructure for electronic fund transfers.

To deal with these changes, banks in the region need to support the infrastructure for their ATM networks. This includes the test tools that play an integral part in quality assurance. EMV support within ATM Developer will enable Al Rajhi to create and edit EMV-compatible ATM configuration files, as well as provide the capability for comprehensive card interrogation. ATM Developer provides full automated end-to-end transaction testing directly from the smart card, through the ATM and up to the host system.

“We are proud to add Al Rajhi to our global client portfolio and to enable such a technologically innovative bank to strengthen its ATM channel,” said Issa Keskek, regional director of Level Four Software’s Middle East operations. “Following our product repositioning in November 2005, Al Rajhi is among several banks to licence ATM Developer, confirming that our product strategy is correctly aligned to the banking industry’s needs for comprehensive open standards-based ATM testing and development solutions.”
