LEVEL FOUR CELEBRATES 'SUITE' SUCCESS IN THE MIDDLE EAST

- SAMBA licences all components of Level Four's ATM Channel Development Suite
- Level Four wins second client in Saudi Arabia in as many months

London, 17 May 2004 - Level Four Software, the leading provider of ATM test and development software, today announced the licensing of its complete product suite with its second Middle East customer. Samba Financial Group (SAMBA), the largest publicly traded bank in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is the first client to licence all components within the Level Four ATM Channel Development Suite. Level Four's tools, notably EMV FastTrack, will help SAMBA migrate its multi-vendor ATM network to EMV standards on the local Saudi Payments Network, SPAN2. Level Four's Network Stress Tester module will also ensure thorough testing of the bank's migration to EMV.

SAMBA is at the forefront of Saudi Arabian banks implementing advanced technology to serve its customers. For example, SAMBA was the first to offer cash deposit and bill payment through ATMs. SAMBA has selected Level Four's toolset to uphold its status as the most technology advanced bank in Saudi Arabia. Using the ATM Channel Development Suite, SAMBA can customise ATM screens, rapidly develop new ATM applications and undertake end-to-end testing of its multi-vendor ATM network. Level Four's automated tools eliminate reliance on manual testing, which results in faster and more thorough testing processes.

Derek Sham, assistant general manager, SAMBA Technology, says: "At SAMBA, we pride ourselves on being early adopters of advanced technology and Level Four's innovative product suite is in tune with the increasingly sophisticated ATM landscape. Our customers will benefit from a smooth migration to EMV smart cards, and more importantly, faster deployment of new functionality at ATMs."

Level Four's EMV FastTrack component will assist in the migration of SAMBA's ATM network to comply with the EMV smart card standard. The tool enables the creation of EMV compatible ATM downloads and full end-to-end transaction testing directly from the chip card, through the ATM and up to the host system.
SAMBA has also licensed Level Four's Network Stress Tester module to realistically simulate the stress of its ATM network usage. With high volumes of ATM transactions across its network of over 250 ATMs, and the increasing complexities introduced by EMV, a high standard of quality assurance is required from the testing environment. ATM Network Stress Tester assures that SAMBA's ATM network can cope with peaks in transaction volumes resulting in a high level of customer service quality.

Level Four will help SAMBA comply with SPAN2 and cope with increased ATM usage by offering swift and centralised uploading of new functionality to the ATM network. SAMBA's customers will be the first to benefit from enhanced ATM features and service as the bank leads the pack of Saudi Arabian banks in compliance with SPAN2.

"SAMBA is well regarded in Saudi Arabia for its technological foresight and we are proud to be associated with a bank of this stature," says Osman Mehta, Middle East Regional Manager, Level Four. "SAMBA is an important client win for Level Four because it is the first bank to licence all components of the ATM Channel Development Suite. As SAMBA is our second Middle East client win in two months, we are rapidly reaching our goal of being the testing and development vendor of choice in the region."

Notes to Editor:
1. SPAN2 is the second generation of the Saudi Payments Network, which was established to support the implementation of electronic banking services across the country and to create a secure infrastructure for electronic fund transfers. For more information on SPAN, please visit www.span.com.sa
