ATM SOFTWARE VENDOR FOR THE NEXT LEVEL

Level Four poised to be the global leading supplier of ATM testing and development software by 2005

London, 9 December 2003 - Level Four Software today announced its continued growth plans and target to become the global market leader of ATM test and development software by 2005. Based on uptake of Level Four products by numerous leading European banks in the last 12 months, the company is preparing for exponential growth in the New Year.

In the past 18 months, Level Four has achieved clear market leadership in the UK with customer wins such as Abbey National, Royal Bank of Scotland, ATMOS - the outsourcing division of LINK, Woolwich and Nationwide. The company has also gained its first sales in Europe with Den norske Bank in Norway and OTP Bank in Hungary. In 2004, Level Four will strive for dominant market position in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, as well as start to target the North American Market.

Nigel Walsh, Chairman, Level Four, says, "We are confident that Level Four's strategic partnerships with industry leaders such as NCR, Diebold and ACI Worldwide, and our continued close working relationships with existing customers, will enable us to achieve our intended geographic reach within the next two years."

2003 was a major growth year for Level Four. The company opened its new headquarters in Dunfermline, Scotland, and strengthened its senior management team with several industry specialists. Staff numbers significantly increased, and a sales recruitment drive in Europe and the Middle East has ensured excellent support for Level Four's rapidly growing customer base. Level Four has also established a customer installation and support group, which operates independently of the product development and R&D teams, in order to improve the service to each of the company's customers.

Level Four's success is a result of innovative product developments in tune with the constantly evolving ATM landscape. Changes prompting a demand for comprehensive ATM testing and development tools include compliance to EMV chip card mandates and the migration to new software platforms to support non-account based ATM services. In June 2003, Level Four received The Banker award for the best smart card solution in retail markets in recognition of its EMV FastTrack product.

In 2004, Level Four will enhance its flagship product, the ATM Channel Development Suite, with a new range of features and functions. This includes upgrades to the Suite's ATM Simulator and ATM Developer products, as well as a raft of new plug-in components to bring increasing business benefits to existing customers. One of Level Four's new products for 2004 is ATM Network Stress Tester, which supports customers growing demand to simulate full, accurate and meaningful stress testing conditions. Furthermore, the development of an IFX simulator personality highlights Level Four's involvement and contribution to the IFX Forum industry standard.

Martin Macmillan, CEO, Level Four, comments on the company's growth: "Looking ahead at 2004 and beyond, we are confident that Level Four's client base can grow far beyond the UK shores. Continued product development along with an expanded and committed workforce are key aspects of our strategy, and they reflect our dedication to support our customers' needs."
