JAN BATEMAN JOINS LEVEL FOUR AS OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Experienced software delivery expert moves from Logica to Level Four
to support continued company growth

London, UK, Monday 22 September 2003 - Level Four Software, a leading provider of ATM test and development software, today announced that Jan Bateman is joining the fast-growing company as Operations Director. She will be managing the UK and European operations of the company, based from the new flagship headquarter office in Dunfermline, Scotland.

Bateman's role includes responsibility for the company's research and development practice, which encompasses new product road maps as well as consultancy for existing customers. Day-to-day operations will also be managed by Bateman, including installations, support and the help-desk, which includes the online problem reporting and tracking system available to customers 24 hours a day.

Bateman has 25 years experience in the IT industry, specialising in the management and provision of consultancy, systems integration and software development projects. She spent 17 years at Logica, joining the consultancy practice in 1986 and conducting a range of assignments for customers in finance, government and manufacturing, achieving the grade of principal consultant.

Since 1995, she has held a variety of line management roles including Delivery Manager for Logica's payments and electronic banking unit. Most recently, Bateman was Delivery Manager, Scotland for the financial services division. At the same time, she held the role of Operations Support Manager for Edinburgh, providing management focus for all aspects of the Logica operation in the central belt of Scotland. Prior to joining Logica, Bateman worked for two technology start-ups and an IT services company.

Level Four's primary software technology is the ATM Channel Development Suite - a comprehensive toolkit that allows financial institutions to develop, test and rapidly deploy new content and applications within their ATM delivery channels. It includes ATM Simulator, ATM Developer and the EMV FastTrack and 3DES FastTrack plug-ins. 3DES FastTrack is designed to help banks prepare their ATM networks for compliance with the Triple-DES security standard, and supports remote key management functions and Encrypted PIN Pad (EPP) devices.
