LEVEL FOUR APPOINTS JAN REES AS BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Jan Rees joins dynamic ATM software firm, reinforcing its commitment to business expansion

London, UK, 10 December 2002 — Level Four Software, a leading provider of best-of-breed ATM test and development software, today announced the appointment of Jan Rees as business development manager. Rees will help progress Level Four’s growing business, targeting banks wishing to add new functionality to their existing ATM networks and building alliances with key industry associations and industry-leading developers and vendors.

Rees has over 14 years experience in providing software solutions to the retail banking sector. Formerly a projects director at Logica, Rees was responsible for implementing consumer banking channel solutions, such as branch banking platforms, to customers in the Middle East and Asia. Part of his role at Level Four will focus on developing overseas market opportunities.

Rees has widespread knowledge of the ATM and EFTPOS (electronic funds transfer at point of sale) switching and payments industry gained through system integration projects using products such as S2's ON/2 and Mosaic's Postilion platform. A key milestone in his career was the delivery of the United Arab Emirates National EFT Payment Switch in 1995. Rees comments, “The success of this prestigious project was key to consolidating Logica’s position as a primary source of payments solution expertise and in opening up further opportunities in the Middle East region.”

Rees believes that Level Four has the right products at the right time to grow a substantial business in the ATM marketplace, citing this as a key reason for joining the company. “Level Four is responding to the actual needs of customers at a time of radical change within a relatively mature market. The imminent widespread introduction of EMV compliant smart cards means that banks need solutions to help them migrate their ATM networks. Level Four has the right tools and a team of highly talented individuals to execute this effectively.”
