LEVEL FOUR AND ACI WORLDWIDE SIGN JOINT MARKETING AGREEMENT

ACI customers across EMEA can now benefit from Level Four's software enabling them to maximise the profit potential of their ATM delivery channels

London, 27 August, 2002
— Level Four Software, a leading provider of ATM test and development software today announced that it has signed a co-marketing agreement with ACI Worldwide (ACI), a global provider of payment solutions to financial institutions. Level Four will work closely with ACI to promote its ATM tools to ACI's growing client base across EMEA. Level Four's software offers significant benefits to banks and other financial institutions deploying new content and applications across their ATM delivery channels - particularly for customers upgrading their ATM networks to achieve EMV compliance.

ACI provides financial institutions with integrated solutions that span the payments value chain, including software to enable real-time cash transactions at ATMs. ACI can now add further value to its banking customers by introducing Level Four and its extensive toolset of integrated modules that enable the rapid deployment of new ATM applications and full end-to-end testing of ATM networks.

Level Four's software also supports BASE24® - ACI's transaction processing and switching system - enabling banks to test high volumes of both magnetic stripe and EMV smart card transactions quickly and efficiently. For EMV compliance, banks deploying BASE24® can simulate full end-to-end transaction testing directly from the smart card, through the ATM and up to the host system using Level Four's EMV FastTrack component.

"Level Four's ATM tools address a clear market need in the banking arena and are proven to work effectively with BASE24," comments Jim Tomaney, EMEA Marketing Director, ACI Worldwide. "We are pleased to be able to introduce our customers to Level Four and empower them to solve their ATM problems in-house. "

More than 330 financial institutions, retailers and processors worldwide use ACI's BASE24 to acquire, route and authorize online e-payment transactions through physical and virtual channels such as mobile phones, PCs, ATMs, merchant Web sites and traditional retail outlets. BASE24 operates on HP NonStop servers to provide scalable, 24/7 processing power for e-payment systems.

Level Four and ACI are also working together to provide tools to assist in the migration of ACI customers to emerging standards in the ATM industry. This includes DMG/XML, a new standard being introduced that will enable ATM machines to communicate with the host system in XML. ACI plans to offer customers the opportunity to adopt the new standard to ensure that they are forward compliant, and will work with Level Four to provide effective tools for fast and efficient migration.

Martin Macmillan, CEO, Level Four comments, "We are delighted to be supporting ACI, a key industry player in the e-payment space. Our relationship opens up a big opportunity for Level Four to build awareness of our solutions in EMEA and beyond. It really marks us on the map as an emerging force in this marketplace and a company to watch out for."

Level Four's primary software technology is the ATM Channel Development Suite - a comprehensive toolkit that allows financial institutions to develop, test and rapidly deploy new content and applications within their ATM delivery channels. The ATM Channel Development Suite also enables financial institutions to offer relevant, personalised and interactive functionality to customers through their existing ATM networks.

Level Four's EMV FastTrack tool enables EMV smart card transactions to be developed and tested directly from a desktop PC, allowing banks to test high volumes of smart card transactions quickly and efficiently by simulating the ATM environment.
